Welcome to my new adventure from Spirit to Story to Song!

Welcome everyone to the first blog post on my new website! Don’t you just love experiencing a ‘happening’ when everything falls into place with ease and the timing feels absolutely perfect? You just Know that you Know you Know! On the other hand, have you ever stressed out to force your plan into your timing, while just maybe forgetting to breathe and allow? Whether we see it or not, everything is unfolding as it should. A wise teacher once told me, “All is hidden in plain sight!”

Yes it’s true – the solution was right in front of me but my attention was elsewhere. In January of this year, I had some well-earned time off. I would finally have the space to work on my 7th new CD. The songs were already written – I just needed a month for complete immersion in the music before having the orchestral arrangements written. However, life took me in a different direction. I was asked to coach provincial speaking contestants, dental crowns required replacing, information for upcoming workshops needed to meet the deadlines … And then, (have you ever done this?) I chose to wade through all the ‘business stuff’ so that I could do music! By this time, it was mid-February.

Laura Simonson

Now here is the fun part! The Universal Weaver was taking all the seeds I had planted, making them ready to sprout as soon as I took notice. One morning I said to Tink, “The new CD will come in good time. I give up!” Ta Dah! Ah, the freedom of letting go! I was led to attend an E-women workshop in Coquitlam, BC, on February 8th facilitated by two best selling authors, Teresa de Grosbois and Charmaine Hammond. These two brilliant women taught us invaluable information which was truly life-changing!

Also at the workshop was another dear friend, the talented Laura Simonson, who offered to redesign my new website. She was my angel that day and she understands my music at a soul level.

I will always remember Feb. 10th when Laura picked me up in her convertible, top down, (the convertible top, that is …) to take me for a walk on Jericho Beach in Vancouver. Back in Alberta, there was still snow on the ground, but here we were in glorious sunshine with mountains, water, green grass and flowers!

Now, after miracles building upon miracles, here I am writing this blog! In future entries, I will tell you how I was inspired by Spirit to write songs to open your heart and reawaken your inner knowing. Song sample clips will be included, so if the music speaks to your heart, you have the option to download the entire song or CD. On my website, I have initiated the process by introducing stories for 7 of my songs. There will be many more to follow!

I will also relate lessons learned through life experiences – some funny, others painful, but always transformative: like the time Tink and I, our son and dog, were pushed off an 80-foot cliff by a drunk driver, how my song and dance routine selling men’s ties in a store window in Montreal, Quebec, was shut down by the police, how a giant tent collapsed on 300 of us at a conference in Ontario, how my gown zipper broke while I was on stage giving a concert, – ah, so much to tell … For all of us, our life events would fill volumes of books.

I would love you to visit my new virtual home at www.judyarmstrong.ca There you can learn about the Services and Events (such as concerts, keynotes, life-lifts, workshops, coaching and music for events) that I offer to help you find the magic of being a kid again, discover your own Voice and inspire your creativity. I especially love helping you remember and express your awesomeness!

Judy as 'Granny.'

Judy as ‘Granny.’

And then, there is ‘Granny’ (my outrageous side), a character I often play as part of my workshops, keynotes and stage performances. One of her expressions is, “Singin’ is singin’ – don’t matter if yer on stage or in yer outhouse!” This morsel of wisdom was first spoken in a theater scene where Granny’s niece wanted desperately to express her voice and talents, but was afraid others would make fun of her. Check out ‘Giggle with Granny‘ and ‘Hire a Granny‘ You will be hearing much more from her as time goes on! (She doesn’t like living in a suitcase …)

My newsletter will be launched soon so I invite you to join my mailing list.  As a gift for joining my new adventure, I would love to give you a free download of my song, “Give Yourself Love!”

Please share your stories with me as we are all part of each other. From my heart to yours, thank you for being my teachers. We are all powerful beyond measure when we shine our Light, claim our worth and champion each other.

Judy, love your page, very inspiring.
My journey took root after my sister whose name was also Judy, was misdiagnosed by the same doctors that I worked for …not one doctor but 4 and 4 misread ex-rays. She was among the many people who find their own self-worth and self-responsibility foreign to them because of lifelong habits of letting others do their thinking. I was angry and revengeful and dedicated all of my energy on righting wrongs until one day I came face to face with God. I made a decision to make a positive contribution to the life of another. I had found my purpose, new ways to inspire others, to forgive themselves, to open up to divinity and allow themselves to be guided by that power that is greater than themselves and connect with the voice within, and to build confidence in themselves. God bless as we travel this journey for a better me, with love and peaceful heart of God. Gilda

Hi Gilda, thank you so much sharing yours and Judy’s story with me. You have the most beautiful heart. Isn’t it interesting how we all come to our higher purpose in so many unique ways. And then, at the right and perfect time, we meet other people who have similar values and we all help each other. You are a shining light Gilda. I am delighted that we found each other on Facebook! Sending you many love and blessings, Judy

Thank you so much Kelly! You really started me on this journey back in the early 90’s. Feeling your strength and support anchored my workshops. A whole new level of healing and sound opened up for me. And look at you Kelly! You have created a phenomenal following! You also continue to uplift lives wherever you are. Blessings and hugs to you.
