The Time is NOW

The instant that Laura Simonson and I voiced the words The Time is Now on a Skype call, an e-mail came to Laura from Carrie Kohan saying, “It’s time.”

Goosebumps!!

It is no accident that Carrie sent her “It’s time” message right when we were talking about this very subject. Kindred sisters, Laura and Carrie, are both incredibly talented and intuitive. They are also the kind of friends who love me enough to give me the Cosmic Boot when I’m ‘off track’. Yes, I’ll admit – I do have times when I feel ‘off course’ (can you relate?). In fact, over the years I have perfected a whole series of delay tactics. Well, I tried that – it’s not working anymore … The two main culprits were my compulsion to eating ice cream and chocolate. These can be quite harmless in themselves when eaten moderately and with love. However, when one eats a whole tub or box all in one sitting, mainly to avoid that niggling Voice of Knowing that never lets me off the hook, that’s quite another story. Miracle of miracles, my body finally decided for me. Turns out I’m extremely allergic to dairy! Now that I am free from the addiction, the feeling of lightness is like being born again! In future blogs, I will tell you more of the story …

For the past 25 years, life lessons and universal messages have come to me in the form of melodies and lyrics for songs. The music has a variety of styles from profound, to serene, to uplifting, to down right funny. There are two songs in particular that focus on ‘It’s Time’. The first is called, “The Time Has Come” (recorded on my first CD, INSIDE of ME); the other is, “The Time is Now” (from my second CD, LET YOUR HEART SING).

In the early 90’s, I attended a life-changing workshop on Salt Spring Island led by Rhonda Johnson. I had written several songs but had not yet recorded them. I had built a whole wall of ‘stories’ whose theme was focused on the impossible (e.g. where would I get the money, who would want to hear me, my music isn’t mainstream, and on and on …).

With the support of those powerful women, I broke through my fear (not of failure, but of success) and decided to say YES to Life, to my dreams, to my destiny. Without looking back, I knew without a shadow of doubt that ‘It’s Time’. When I returned home, I wrote the song, “The Time Has Come”.

“The time has come to throw away my foolish fears
The time has come to soar
The time has come to smile away the wasted years
Holding on doesn’t serve me anymore

The time has come to choose to walk another way
The time has come to dance in the sun
To sing the song that is played for me
To live the life that is made for me
To laugh, to play, to run,
The time has come”

I had made a commitment to let the windows open wide and live my destiny. Very soon after “The Time Has Come” was written, the financing came to me as a gift and the first CD was born.

Many more songs flowed to me over the next while. Then, about a year after I had recorded ‘The Time Has Come’, I was having a quiet moment and could feel a new song was being birthed. I moved to the piano and allowed Spirit to speak to me.

“If ever there is a time
If ever there is a reason
If ever we make a choice for Love
The Time is NOW”

I waited.

Then I felt the message, “Be still. We are with you”.

I surrendered to the process as both melody and lyrics came together.

“If ever we’re going to join
If ever we’re going to get together
If ever we choose to rise above
The Time is NOW”

This was the beginning of a song which touched my heart in ways that I could not even fathom. The message couldn’t be more clear.

“Come on, look inside
Come on, let go, we have the Power
Come on sister and brother
The Time is NOW
We’re part of each other”                

The marriage of words and music is powerful. This compelling piece stands on its own so there is nothing to add to its intent except to relate my experience.

This is what I know from the depths of my Being.

We all have a vital role in the global awakening of humanity and beloved Gaia. This is the Time we have long awaited. We are needed NOW! A major shift is occurring and old patterns are crumbling, erupting to the surface to be cleansed and loved back to Source. There is a huge influx of Light enfolding us Now. All life is interconnected here on earth and in this infinite universe.

Each of us contributes a unique note in the symphony of life. We Are a Family. It’s Time to claim our spiritual magnificence. We are urgently needed to raise our consciousness from separation to unity of Divine Love and respect for All Life.

Together let us hold the vision close that Peace will reign here.
